It is commonly used in industries such as electronics, libraries, retail shops, and small parts storage. The shelves often pair with plastic bins to efficiently organize various small and lightweight goods. Due to its light construction, this shelving system is easy and convenient to transport, install, and disassemble.

Typically, light duty shelving supports moderate loads, with individual shelves designed to carry weights up to approximately 150 kg (330 lbs). Its modular design allows for quick adjustments and customization to fit specific storage needs. This makes it an economical and flexible choice for businesses requiring organized, accessible storage for smaller parts or products in environments ranging from warehouses to retail and office settings.

Medium duty shelving systems provide versatile storage solutions suitable for small to medium-sized, light to moderately heavy goods. They typically feature adjustable shelves with load capacities ranging from 100 kg (220 lbs) to 800 kg (1,764 lbs) per layer, depending on the specific type. The shelves can be adjusted vertically in increments of 50 mm (2 inches) to 75 mm (3 inches), allowing customization to fit various storage needs.

These shelving units include components such as uprights, beams, brackets, panels, and plastic baseplates, often employing easy and quick boltless or hooked connection styles for simplified installation. Frame designs may be welded or modular, and depths are customizable, typically in sizes from 400 mm (16 inches) up to 800 mm (31.5 inches) or beyond, with special structural reinforcements recommended for depths exceeding 900 mm (35 inches).

Commonly used in libraries, archives, markets, pharmacies, warehouses, and similar environments, medium duty shelving is ideal for storing boxed, loose, or light bulk goods in an organized and accessible manner. These shelves can be used standalone or combined in flexible configurations to optimize warehouse space and workflow.

Movable archive shelving is a highly efficient, space-saving storage solution widely used in archive rooms, libraries, and data centers. This shelving system consists of shelving units mounted on mobile carriages that move along floor-mounted tracks or rails, allowing the shelves to slide and compact closely together when not in use. By eliminating the need for multiple fixed aisles, movable shelving significantly increases storage capacity—often doubling the available storage compared to traditional static shelving.

There are two primary types of movable archive shelving based on their drive mechanism: manual-driven and electric-driven systems. Manual-driven movable shelving operates via a hand crank or wheel that users rotate to slide the shelving units along the rails manually. This type is cost-effective and suitable for locations with lower usage frequency or budget constraints. On the other hand, electric-driven movable shelving uses motorized drives controlled by buttons or keypads, allowing effortless and precise movement of the shelving units with minimal physical effort. Electric systems are ideal for high-usage environments needing quick and frequent access, offering increased efficiency and reducing labor intensity.
